Phoenix

Phoenix is a mixed breed puppy, just over 1 year old and has been in our care for almost 3 months as a foster. He is about 65 lbs, very energetic, playful, and puppy-like. He is very social with people. He has been to public outings and meets new people very well. He is shy at first and immediately goes in for petting and leaning against strangers that are wanting to meet him. He will drop everything to sit for treats. He has met visitors to our home warmly and appropriately. Phoenix is very interested in toys and playing tug and fetch. He walks very nicely on leash. He engages in rowdy play with our 2 very tolerant dogs. He settles nicely in the evening for couch time, sleeps peacefully in a crate and is completely house-trained. He will do best in an active home with a person/family that gives him things to do and daily exercise. With his size and energy, we would not recommend he go to a home with small children. He does have some puppy tendencies with chewing on things when we are not home, so we crate him while we are gone. We have not had him around cats. We feel he has great potential as he matures and continues to learn how to live in a home. With patience, consistency and daily exercise he will make a great companion.
