Murphy is still growing and learning, but already she's shaping up to be a gentle giant. Her foster mom is so impressed with how she behaves, especially considering she's still just a puppy. Murphy is very sweet and mild-mannered. She can be a little cautious in new situations but the world is still new to her so it makes sense that she needs a little time to adjust to it! She definitely gets comfort from the people in her life - when she gets a little spooked on a walk (by a loud noise or an approaching stranger) she defaults to walking close to your side to make sure she feels safe. She's well-behaved on leash and doesn't pull. If anything, sometimes she walks too close and makes herself a tripping hazard!Murphy wants to be close to you, but isn't too demanding with her affection. She's also great at keeping herself occupied with a toy and will happily lay by your side on the couch for a nap or some relaxed playtime. She is doing extremely well with house training. She'll usually start pacing and maybe offer a whine or two when she needs to go out. She also does well crated both overnight and while her foster mom is at work. She would probably be fine un-crated once she's a little older, but for now she still occasionally does some ''test nibbles'' on items she shouldn't - cables, the corners of coffee tables, throw pillows, etc. It's very easy to stop her and redirect her to a toy but it would be better for her not to be left alone with free reign of your home until she gets over her nibbling phase.Murphy does well with other dogs once she's had the chance to get over her nerves. Once comfortable, she can sometimes be a little pushy with wanting attention from her dog friends, so she may need a little guidance as she continues to work on her manners. Overall, she listens well to other dogs asking for their space and doesn't play too rough. Murphy's foster mom has cats, but she hasn't yet seen Murphy interact with them too much because they've been hiding from her. Hopefully by the time Murphy has potential adopters, her foster will know a bit more about how she'll be with cats. Her foster suspects she'll do fine though, given her general good nature and habit of listening when scolded. She would most likely be okay in a home with children - she's very gentle when taking treats, she isn't mouthy, she doesn't often jump up, and she isn't too rowdy with her play. The only concern would of course be her size. She's still a clumsy puppy and may knock over a smaller kid purely on accident. She also still spooks at loud noises sometimes, so she would be better suited to older children willing to show her some extra patience.
