You may have spotted a new face around the LCHS office recently!
Last week we welcomed Erin Milligan to our staff as the new LCHS Volunteer Coordinator. Erin spent nearly two decades working at the capital city’s municipal shelter, the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It was there that Erin gained experience in animal care, shelter operations, volunteer support, and community outreach. Her background as a veterinary technician has also given her valuable hands-on experience caring for animals with a wide range of medical and behavioral needs. We’re thrilled to add her to our staff team, and Erin is excited to connect people with opportunities to support animals in need!

Wondering what’s happened to our fearless former Volunteer Coordinator? Courtney Kendrick is now transitioning to lead the LCHS Cat Program. Courtney’s been part of the LCHS staff team for over three years, and during that time she’s played a big part in the cat program, aside from her role as the Volunteer Coordinator. Courtney’s seen the cat program through three different Cat Program Coordinators, a Panleuk nightmare none of us care to relive, several large cat rescues requiring isolation and weeks of care, and did I mention she’s an owner of Tally Cat Cafe? That’s right, her work with LCHS never ends, because as the biggest foster placement of LCHS cats, Courtney is always on top of the overall health of cats residing at Tally Cat Cafe until finding their forever homes.
Courtney has incredible patience when working with “project kitties” that require more time to decompress, as well as those needing extra one-on-one exercise and enrichment to settle their robust personalities. We’re overjoyed to see Courtney take the reins of our lifesaving cat program here at LCHS!
