River

River is a very pretty, sweet girl with beautiful markings and a low-maintenance coat. She is smart, adaptable, and curious, with a fun-loving and energetic personality. While she can be a bit nervous at first, she blossoms with patience and would do especially well with another small, confident dog to help show her the ropes. Once she gets to know you, River is incredibly loving and playful. She enjoys playing with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion (or even a couple!) She loves to snuggle up next to you on the couch or in bed. River would do best in a home where someone is around often - ideally a person who works from home or is retired - so she can continue building confidence and feel secure. To repay you for making her feel safe, she's an excellent guard dog and will bark to alert you of the arrival of your newest amazon package, but once you've acknowledged her diligence, she stops when told and immediately settles. A secure, fenced-in yard would be best because she loves to run. She's learning to go on walks and does well. She is shy when she meets people but seems eager to get to know them.
