Willow

A few months ago, Wakulla County Shelter was inundated with dogs after a large confiscation due to an ongoing cruelty case. We pulled several, with Willow being one of them. Unfortunately, Willow and the rest of the dogs we took in are apprehensive of men. While Willow was nursing her puppies, her foster home had no men. After her puppies weaned, we moved her to a new foster and her distrust of men became immediately evident. While she is amazing with women and other dogs, we can't recommend that she go to a home with men or children. She's incredibly fearful and mistrusting of them, and we'd like to set her up for success in her future home. Willow is a smart, agile, very loving Australian Collie. At 17 pounds she is small enough to cuddle, yet just the right size for participating in activities. While she is very shy in the beginning, once she warms up, she is extremely loving and dedicated to ensuring her human is safe and happy. She is good with other dogs and enjoys playing. While her past has left her with some trauma, we know she'll be a great addition to the right home.
